Story
Eri silk comes from Caterpillar of Samoa Ricini, which feeds on Castor plants found in certain parts of Asia. Eri cocoons are open mouthed and process of extraction of fiber takes place after the silk worm leaves the cocoon. Hence it is also called Ahimsa or peace silk, a preferable silk for vegans. It has some amazing properties, though it’s not as shiny as other silks. It is one of the most durable and strong fibers. It has ‘isothermal’ properties so it feels cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
